Budapest Wagner Days 2020: enjoy some of the memorable productions of recent years online

2020. May 27.

Richard Wagner, one of the most important composers in the entire history of music, was born 207 years ago, on 22 May 1813, and Müpa Budapest will once again be celebrating his genius in worthy style. The Budapest Wagner Days event series, which has been winning unmatched international acclaim since 2006, will reach another major milestone in 2020 by moving into the digital realm: between 18 and 27 June 2020, Müpa Budapest will make an entire festival's worth of video from its rich archives of recordings of the programmes available to the public free of charge.

This selection will naturally include the festival's flagship production: Hartmut Schörghofer's production of the Ring cycle will be presented on four consecutive days between 18 and 21 June, starting each day at 6 pm. In addition, the audience will also get to see performances, some of the best of recent years, of three remarkable productions: Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Der fliegende Holländer and Tannhäuser.

You can watch our online transmissions on our website, on our Facebook page or on our YouTube channel. Join us again this year so that we can preserve the spirit of the Budapest Wagner Days festival together!
