In 1703, Bach became organist of the new church in Arnstadt, which inspired him to write numerous works for organ. The chorales from this period make up the core of the programme of music to be played here by the organist of the evangelical church at Budapest's Deák tér, who is also artistic director of the Organ Music Devotions series at the same church. Gergely Finta graduated from the renowned class of Ferenc Gergely at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music. Having taken numerous courses at ...home and abroad, and with competition and concert successes and a thorough grounding in church music under his belt, he took up his present post in 2009.
Additional programmes will spice up the event in the Glass Hall and the Foyer; for example, the Bach Café and Bach Organ-workshop.
