At the opening concert of the 24-hour Bach series, a brilliant French organist will play a selection of works with a connection to French music. The two compositions with a French connection, though not unequivocally attributed to Bach, feature in the Bach catalogue. The six pieces known as the Schübler Chorales are organ transcriptions of movements from Bach's chorale cantatas, the title derived from a noted publisher of the period.
Additional programmes will spice up the event in... the Glass Hall and the Foyer; for example, the Bach Café and Bach Organ-workshop.
