Tamás Vásáry will be guiding the audience on this magical journey through time, in which it will get the chance to marvel at one of the biggest mysteries in music history. Over the course of scarcely more than a decade, Franz Schubert lived through an entire century of the genre of the symphony. In his early pieces, written when he was 17 and 18, he spoke with elegance the language of the Viennese classical school of Haydn and Mozart. A few years later, he emerged as the regenerator of that lang...uage, not in the least fearful of the looming shadow cast by his contemporary Beethoven. And ultimately, his final "Great” symphony paved the way for such masters of the genre as Dvořák, Tchaikovsky, Bruckner and Mahler.
