In a noble gesture, Ilona Prunyi and Ádám Banda dedicate their evening of chamber music to one of the greatest and most influential Hungarian pianists of the 20th century. Annie Fischer was a universally respected figure, but not everyone was able to get close to her; one person who was accepted as a friend was Ilona Prunyi. "Are you Prunyi? Do you know how much I admire you?” Fischer asked of her younger colleague in the dressing-room after a concert in her characteristically amiable mann...er. What is more, Prunyi is not only an outstanding musician, but also a champion of the lesser-known Hungarian composers of the 19th century, as well as an initiator of the Dohnányi revival in Hungary. This is the same Dohnányi under whom Annie Fischer studied under when she was barely 19 years old and won the first International Liszt Piano Competition.
