The Clavierübung III, also known as the German Organ Mass, contains Bach's most characteristic works for organ, which the composer began writing in 1735-36 and published in 1739. Many contend that these works are some of the musically most complex and technically most demanding compositions in the organ repertoire.
Christoph Bossert, who teaches organ at the University of Music Würzburg, pursues a very intensive concert career worldwide. He has recorded Max Reger's complete organ works, a...nd was the first to record Bach's collection The Well-Tempered Clavier on organ (on an 18th century instrument).
Additional programmes will spice up the event in the Glass Hall and the Foyer; for example, the Bach Café and Bach Organ-workshop.
