The popular “Wagner in Budapest” Opera Festival, organised in June every year, was launched by the Palace of Arts in 2006. Its very first production welcomed audiences with a completely new staging concept of Wagner’s Parsifal. The two young directors, Alexandra Szemerédy and Magdolna Parditka took the characteristics of the concert hall into account by creating a performance, which focuses on the key elements of the opera, just as Wagner intended. The documentary not only features Ádám Fischer,... artistic director of the “Wagner in Budapest” Opera Festival, describing the opera’s plot and music, but also outlines the artistic concept of the directors and recaptures the production’s most important scenes.
