A performance of the work makes unique stamina demands upon the two actors. These will be played by Christian Franz, who has enjoyed great success in Budapest, and Anna-Katharina Behnke who has been much acclaimed for her Isolde in a production conducted by Dennis Russel Davies. Jan-Hendrik Rootering and Tomasz Konieczny are both familiar to Hungarian audiences, while the Hungarians in the production, as well as the orchestra, are members of the Hungarian State Opera House company.
