The teacher: Gergely Bogányi
Among his numerous victories at international piano competitions, Gergely Bogányi took first place at the International Chopin Piano Competition in 1993 and a gold medal at the International Ferenc Liszt Piano Competition in 1996, both held in Budapest. After receiving the Ferenc Liszt Award in 2000, he was decorated him with the Cross of Merit of the Order of the White Rose by the president of Finland in 2002 and awarded the Kossuth Prize in 2004. Just as Lis...zt found inspiration from the piano innovations of his own era, Bogányi also strives for perfection. This endeavour gave rise to the revolutionary Bogányi piano, one of the most innovative redesigns of the concert instrument of the past century and a half.
The student: Misi Boros
Misi Boros started demonstrating an exceptional level of interest in music from the age of three. He was five years old when he and his older brother received a piano, and he has spent much of his free time beside the instrument ever since. He has won every national competition for his age group and also achieved impressive results abroad, taking the top prize in the youngest age category at the Eighth Mozart Piano Competition in Rome and absolute first prize in the under-18 group at the Concours Musical de France international piano competition in Paris. In 2014, at the age of 11, he appeared on the classical music talent search programme Virtuosos, where he also came out the victor in his age group. He has already appeared on the world's greatest concert stages in Europe, the United States and Asia. His outstanding talent and charming personality have won him praise from such venerable figures as Plácido Domingo and Tamás Vásáry, and he won the Junior Prima Award in 2016. He has played together on several occasions with Gergely Bogányi, at whose recommendation he received a Bösendorfer grand piano this past July.
