Since 1983, International Dance Day has been held on 29 April to commemorate the birthday of Jean-Georges Noverre, the man considered to be the father of classical ballet. The biggest celebration on the dance calendar has been marked for many years now by a gala evening organised by the National Dance Theatre and the Association of Hungarian Dance Artists to present its professional awards, along with the Zoltán Imre Award. The gala event will also showcase a selection of work from 2014 award wi...nners. Planned participants include the Duna Art Ensemble, Forte Company, Gerzson Péter Kovács - TranzDanz, Hungarian National Ballet, Hungarian National Dance Ensemble, Hungarian Dance Academy, Pécs Ballet and Szeged Contemporary Ballet. (The organisers reserve the right to make changes to the programme.)
