In 2013, Tommy Vig welcomed Hungary's medal winners from the London Olympics with his Golden Symphonies at the Danube Palace. During the performance of the eight jazz symphonies, athletes Danuta Kozák, Krisztián Berki and Krisztián Pars also took to the stage as members of the orchestra. In 2016, Vig aims to inspire the country's Olympic athletes heading to Rio with a concert in the Festival Theatre, which will feature mini-symphonies dedicated to various sports, composed specially for the occas...ion using elements of Hungarian and Brazilian folk music blended with jazz. A concert that can be interpreted as a common initiative of culture and sport, and of musicians and sportspeople, may serve as a symbol of cooperation, friendship, acceptance and understanding.
