There are far more connections between teenagers and the thoughts and music of Beethoven than you would think. On this unique journey, we will move from soloists to quintets as we show how the German great is capable of communicating both with and for young people.
It has been said that Beethoven performed in front of Mozart at 16 years of age. It is a fact that in his twenties the young man learnt from Haydn, the master of the symphony. It has also been said that Beethoven was bad at maths, and that he loved losing himself in his thoughts. This is what this occasion is all about: the programme will focus on a dualistic profile of a distant composer and an approachable man, centering on Beethoven as a composer of chamber music, a side of him less familiar ...to wider audiences. The young musicians appearing in the concert already boast plenty of experience: they take to the stage with a wealth of professional recognition and prizes in competitions behind them. Mónika Ruth Vida on the piano and Csenge Dósa on the violin will perform first, followed by the Kökény Quartet, before members of the Pentaerophonia Budapest Woodwind Quintet close the show. The concert's moderator will be Zsolt Körmendy, who through Beethoven's chamber music will initiate the audience in an accessible style into the lesser known moments of the master's life and present his human and artistic traits.
