Four domestic animals – a clapped-out donkey, an old and weak hunting dog, an aged cat with chipped teeth and a rooster destined for the soup-kettle – escape from their masters and their hopeless fates. They meet on the road and agree to travel to Bremen to become musicians. Only Bremen is far away, and dark descends upon them as they pass through a forest. Just then they spy a house – and where there is a house, there is dinner on the table. They approach the dwelling and begin to make an infer...nal “musical” racket: the donkey brays, the dog barks, the cat meows and the rooster crows, then they leap through the window into the room. The end to this instructive tale, spiced with wonderful music, will be revealed at the performance. Presented by: Hungarian National Philharmonic
