The aim of the Kecskemét City Ballet is to present songs, as they are being played live, from the unique perspective of their own profundities: rather than using the folk dance that is closely connected to the sound of the band as their starting point, their choreographies instead focus on the foundations of primeval music and capture images and moods, thereby removing the sense of a concert experience. It is the intention of choreographer/director Dóra Barta to expand the templates and clichés ...that are almost inevitably associated with folk music. This is why she and her company have prepared for the show in an unusual manner: the choreography continuously changed and developed based on what impulses the dancers felt from the music during rehearsals, so the artists' own personal meanings complement each other to give rise to a collective work: Soaring. "It's a special attribute of people that they are capable at any time of soaring: during the happiest moments and during the most difficult ones. Whatever we call it - inspiration, freedom, creative activity - to me, what they all mean is to soar.” (Dóra Barta)
