Founded in 1999, the members of the Talamba Percussion Ensemble met and made friends as students at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music. Their goal in life is to introduce the broad repertoire of their musical genres and to help them "find peace” with one another. Their concerts are just as likely to include arrangements of Bach's fugues or Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition as they are to reinterpret songs by Magashegyi Underground or feature jazz, folk songs, African tribal rhythms or fast-paced Balkan melodies. They are musicians who combine genres and entertain audiences at home and abroad with genuine 21st century music. Their musical presence extends beyond concert performances: They also have a cultural mission to travel the country and introduce children to their music and instruments. On this occasion, they share their skill and passion for percussion music and rhythm with the Müpa Budapest audience.
