In 2012, the Jazz Showcase established a tradition by allowing promising formations from the region to showcase their talents alongside up-and-coming young Hungarian jazz musicians, and has thereby made the ties between Hungarian, Polish, Slovakian and Czech performers even closer. In 2013, at the sixth Jazz talent fair, the concept remains the same, however, the talents will be coming from another part of the region. This year, young hopefuls from our neighbours to the South and the East: Roman...ia, Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia have been invited to the Palace of Arts to show what they are made of; and perhaps be courted by prominent figures of the European jazz scene—festival and concert promoters, club organisers, journalists—who, in the future, might be giving the most promising performers the chance to perform or make recordings. On each day, four groups will have the chance to enchant audiences with a 40 minute performance each. Among the Hungarian youngsters taking to the stage will be the group made up of graduates of the Snétberger Music Talent Center, whose disadvantaged members were given the opportunity for further training at the camp in Felsőörs. Everyone is welcome to visit the free afternoon performances, from industry professionals to amateur jazz fans and veritable aficionados.
The Müpa Budapest underground garage gates will be operated by an automatic number plate recognition system. Parking is free of charge for visitors with tickets to any of our paid performances on that given day. The detailed parking policy of Müpa Budapest is available here.
