Tonight’s formation was put together in 2011 by two musicians from two disparate genres: Juli Fábián, previously known as a jazz singer, and Zoltán Palásti Kovács, alias Zoohacker, who made his name as a keyboardist and producer in the field of electronic music. Finding a common sound, however, did not present any problem as the very first compositions by this fresh creative partnership already bore the hallmarks of the style they have since come to represent. Their music is distinguished, on th...e one hand, by the inclusion of almost every modern trend alongside more traditional musical genres, and, on the other hand, by its reinterpretation of earlier styles in a modern context using electronic instrumentation. The result of all this is some genuine quality pop music. Since its debut in 2011, the band has been a constant presence on Hungarian radio stations and the local MAHASZ hit lists, has opened for the legendary Stereo MCs, and reached the final of the domestic Eurovision Song Contest in 2012 with the number Like a Child, which brought the group national recognition. “For a group with an electronic sound and concept, an acoustic concert presents the greatest challenge of all,” say the band members, looking ahead to their concert at the Palace of Arts. “There are two ways of setting out to transform the sound: to strip the songs down, or to add more colour. We take both opportunities: some songs will be “toned down” with minimal instrumental accompaniment – perhaps just a single piano or guitar. Others, however, will be presented to the audience in aural costumes even more elegantly woven than the earlier versions, in new arrangements created with the help of our outstanding musicians and guest artists.” Presented by: Palace of Arts
