Wagner in Budapest Opera Festival 2014

Artistic director and conductor: Ádám Fischer

The ninth Wagner in Budapest Festival features the four music dramas of The Ring of the Nibelung and the production of Tannhäuser premièred in 2012. Once again, the solo roles will be occupied by star singers who can be relied upon to hold their own in Richard Wagner’s operas, with all the unusual demands they place on vocal and performance technique. The declared goal of the Budapest productions is to bring Wagner’s works to life in their essence by exploiting the tools inherent in the music to an extraordinarily high standard, all complemented by visual elements which help, rather than obscure, the music’s self-expression. We are delighted to recommend the performances of the Wagner in Budapest Festival to all music fans who love hearing and watching Wagner’s creations in their compelling purity.
