Juliette Bausor is one of the most promising British flute talents. Having gained her diploma as a student of the Guildhall School of Music, she went on to perfect her skills at the Conservatoire de Paris. She has made the finals of the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition on several occasions, and has been chosen by the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO) to participate in its Rising Stars programme as one of six young soloists and ensembles given the opportunity to introduce ...themselves to audiences in the continent's prestigious concert venues in the 2013/14 season.
Bausor is principal flautist for the Northern Sinfonia led by Thomas Zehetmair, as well as the illustrious London Mozart Players, but often performs in the same capacity for other noted orchestras, such as the London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic, Liverpool Philharmonic, Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra and Britten Sinfonia. Naturally, she is a sought-after artist not only in orchestral ranks but also as a soloist, while chamber music plays a similarly prominent role in her musical career. Outside of Europe, she has proven happy to take her music to exotic locations where many of her contemporaries scarcely tread, embarking on concert tours to Thailand, Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates and Namibia. The programme of her Budapest concert contains masterpieces of the classic flute repertoire - by Messiaen, Bach and Dutilleux - alongside more rarely played works, offering a varied overview of the instrument's surprising potential and rich modes of expression.
