October 1st 1995, World Music Day, the Szent István Gimnázium Jubilee Symphony Orchestra was formed from enthusiastic former members of the famous school. The ensemble has between 50 and 60 members, the majority amateurs who love to make music in their spare time. Increasingly often, the ensemble boasts both parents and their children. The ensemble’s resident conductor is Gergely Ménesi, who for many years played the violin in the school orchestra.
