The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra barely need an introduction. Between the two world wars they graced the concert halls of Hungary almost every year, and they have given two memorable concerts at the Palace of Arts since its opening, in 2007 and 2008. Zubin Mehta, in his turn, convinced Hungarian concert goers of his calibre among contemporary conductors most recently in April 2011, at the helm of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentina. This concert promises an unforgettable experience in the real...m of late Romantic and early modern music. The soloist of this evening, Róbert Kovács, last performed in the Palace of Arts in 2007. Organist of the St. Florian Monastery since 1984 and winner of the Improvisation Competition at the 2006 Haarlem International Organ Festival, he earned his diploma in Austria, and has appeared in concert with the world-famous orchestra on a number of occasions.
