The Duna Art Ensemble's artistic ars poetica is an openness to various genres: they actively seek out theatrical performance formats that create an organic unity of folk music and folk dance. The ensemble has found the perfect partner in the Dohnányi Orchestra Budafok as conductor Gábor Hollerung has been intensively searching for connections between live classical music and theatrical dance for years. The collaboration between the two ensembles now goes back more than 15 years. In recent years,... their joint work has centred around classical works closely linked to folk art, such as Kodály's Dances of Galánta, to name just one example. The first half of the shared programme for the Spring Greetings Dance Concert will feature a performance of Barocco Rustico. Based on both Vivaldi's Four Seasons and authentic folk music, it was first premièred by the Duna Art Ensemble in 2011. It has long been the ensemble's desire for the Vivaldi excerpts to be played by a live orchestra during the performance. Thanks to the tie-up with the Dohnányi Orchestra Budafok, this wish has now come true. The second part of the evening will be devoted to a selection of joint works from recent years.
