In the first part of the Folklore Calendar series, the production entitled Dancing Spring, the Hungarian National Dance Ensemble not only familiarised the audience with Hungarian folk customs, but also presented the traditional dances, songs and dress of Hungary's national minorities related to the spring festive season. The second part of the series, entitled Winter Dance, embraces the customs of the winter festive period, from the grape harvest to the end of carnival. Besides the Nativity play..., Yuletide wassailing, St Lucy's Day customs and carnival dance traditions, the audience can enjoy theatrical representations of various superstitious customs tied to the winter festive period.
