'Astana Ballet' is unique dance team skillfully combining classical traditions and the latest trends of both folk and modern dance thus creating its own inimitable style.
Remaining faithful to the traditions of the art of ballet "Astana Ballet” dynamically develops in three style directions, focused on academic dance. This is preservation and promotion of classical dance; development of modern directions searching of plastic through the prism of national choreography and therefore cooperat...ion with leading domestic and foreign ballet masters and choreographers.
The team consists of graduates of Almaty Choreographic School named after A. Seleznev having magnificent professional skills and knowing all the basics of different dance styles.
The repertoire of the theatre consists of more than 50 performances based on the best cultural traditions of the peoples of the world as well as choreographic compositions and miniatures, masterpieces of classical music by great composers.
Leading domestic and foreign choreographers were invited by the theatre in order to improve performance skills and body plastic: Gulzhan Tutkibayeva Nadezhda Kalinina, Sergey Vantsov, Alila Alisheva, Aygul Tati, Alexandra Tskhay, Mukaram Abubakhriyeva, Paul Gordon Emerson, Patrick de Lacroix, Asanga Damask, Arman Nurmakhamatuly, Kadyr Muminov, Akdeniz Chetin. Ballet-mistresses Zukhra Astankova and Zaure Umbetkulova convey their experience to young ballet dancers, improving their skills based on hard work and complete dedication of artists of "Astana Ballet”.
Costume is one of the most important expression means of the artist to create an image. This was considered by costume designers Kayrulla Abishev, Altynay Alisheva and Muslim Zhumagaliyev during design and creation of exclusive costumes amazing in their brightness and originality.
Nowadays "Astana Ballet” is very popular among viewers of different generations, implementing interesting creative projects. Their performances always have great success both in the country and abroad, helping to strengthen image of Kazakhstan as a country with a high spiritual culture and rich traditions.
In November 2013 during the Days of Culture of Kazakhstan in China "Astana Ballet” was giving performances in the best concert halls of the country. This year "Astana Ballet” made a tour through the cities of the Republic. Tour through capitals of European countries is planned for the near future.
Along with this, the team is fully involved in all significant and image events in the country and abroad, becoming the hallmark of Astana, the young capital of our country.
