Centre stage of this new series are the “tools” of music, the instruments. The audience learns about them through authentic performances of live music and with the verbal help of musicians. The concerts in the Glass Hall will have a dance house feel to them. The bagpipe „goes by a variety of names in the Hungarian literature. The Hungarian bagpipe has three pipes: the prima and kontra united into a double pipe and a longer bass pipe. The piper sits or stands as he plays. He prefers to stand when... playing dance music; he can sway to the rhythm, nod and even take simple steps himself. Sometimes he even sings notes from the song. Exponents of the instrument were often shepherds and swineherds. Until the last century, the bagpipes and their dances contributed to the mood of the spinning room.” (after Bálint Sárosi)
