Featuring: National Choir (choirmaster Mátyás Antal), students of the Hungarian College of Dance and vocal soloists Conductor: Ádám Medveczky Host: Sándor Kovács Dvorák: The Water Goblin (Vodník), op. 107 Wagner: Siegfried’s Rhein journey – orchestral version Smetana: Moldva – extract Tchaikovsky: Swan Lake – extracts Offenbach: Tales of Hoffmann – Barcarola Johann Strauss: The Blue Danube Waltz In the second programme of the series, we hear “water” music from the Romantic era. Dvo...rak’s symphonic poem is a musical setting of a folk verse printed in 1853; supernatural mystery plays a role in both the story and the musical depiction. Our musical journey is made even more exciting because students from the Hungarian College of Dance will participate in extracts from Tchaikovsky’s famous ballet. We also take boat trips down the Rhein, the Moldva and the Danube, to great musical accompaniments.
