Every Wednesday, the Pro Familiis and Katalin Forrai Award-winning music teacher Dr Ilona Gróh Gáll looks forward to welcoming parents and children of nursery school age who have grown up on the Sing-along Baby method she herself created. The activities of the Sing-along Baby Musical Kindergarten include the Piccolo events for 3- to 4-year-old children in the first year of nursery school. To start with, the parents also play an active role in the activities following the principles of Sing-alon...g-Baby. As the months pass, the parents take a back seat as their children grow braver and more independent in engaging with the playful musical exercises and developing their skills. In keeping with the unique needs of their age group, nursery rhymes and lap games are supplemented with listening to music and interaction with puppets and other props, while singing and playing instruments continues to take centre stage. The aim of these half-hour activities is to familarise the children with song-based games, Hungarian folk songs, nursery rhymes and songs from other nations to help them develop their interest in music, shape their musical tastes and increase their receptiveness to creative pursuits: listening to music, learning to sing, developing their sense of rhythm and musical form, as well as encouraging the habit of listening to music.
The activities build upon one another week by week, so regular attendance is recommended according to the child's age group.
