It would be hard to find a violin soloist whose passion for music and his instrument comes across more strongly on the stage than that of Barnabás Kelemen. Of course, beyond the movements you see, there are very many other aspects of his talent that make him one of the finest Hungarian violinists of his generation. His family had a profound effect on his career: His grandfather on his mother's side, the famous gypsy prímás Pali Pertis, his musical parents and own close family, his wife and musical partner Katalin Kokas, as well as his children, who will also appear on stage at this concert. Barnabás Kelemen regularly appears not just as a violin soloist, but also in his own violin quartet and as a viola player, as well as stepping onto the podium as conductor at more and more concerts. At our concert, this versatile and passionate performer, globetrotting soloist, excellent chamber musician and musical father will introduce himself, sharing something of that "striking” passion with the audience.
