Kátya Tompos, an outstanding actress with the National Theatre, first made her skills as a singer shine in the film Valami Amerika 2, where her song Magányos csónak became many people's favourite. Though few before that knew her as a singer, she has since proven herself at home in the worlds of jazz, pop and world music alike. Whether in prose or music, her personality fills the stage with wonder. In November 2013, her first solo album appeared under the title Keresztül Európán (Across Europe), a magical musical journey from England to Russia, with songs delivered authentically in English, French, Bulgarian, Hungarian and Russian - thanks to Kátya's superb feel for languages. The record is a true adventure, not only between East and West, but also through a variety of musical styles. The exciting musical imprint of the multicoloured Europe of today is a mirror into which it is a pleasure to gaze. The songs themselves are clothed in appropriate musical attire by Róbert Hrutka.
While drawing mainly on material from the above album, Kátya Tompos and her band are also preparing songs for this concert which suit this profile well, but which the audience has not yet had the chance to hear elsewhere.
