For over fifteen years, the Csík Band excelled with their traditional performances of Transylvanian and Hungarian peasant music. But in 2005, with their album “Senki nem ért semmit” they demonstrated a new way of musical thinking: they arranged three songs by indie band Kispál és a Borz as well as an American blues with vocals and lyrics by András Lovasi. They succeeded in deeply integrating it all into the texture of Hungarian folk music, showing that when it comes to fusion experiments between... Hungarian rock and folk, it isn’t always rock that takes the initiative. It saw the creation of Hungarian traditional-alternative rock-ethno. The new style was further broadened on their 2008 album (Ez a vonat, ha elindult, hadd menjen) with new arrangements. These will be reprised this evening with the collaboration of Mihály Dresch, András Lovasi and György Ferenczi and we can expect some brand new surprises!
