Mark Guiliana is one of the most influential and extraordinarily creative jazz drummers of our time, and one who performs in countless musical styles - a good example being David Bowie's final album, Black Star, which also features his playing. As further proof of his popularity, the readers of Modern Drummer magazine named him the jazz drummer of the year in a 2017 poll. Strongly influenced by hip-hop and electronic music, it is no coincidence that his playing has been characterised as a remark...ably successful cross of Elvin Jones, Sqarepusher, J-Dilla and the Roland 808 drum machine. He will also be affording a singular opportunity by holding a drum class two hours before the concert, at 6 pm, where he will also answer questions. Attending the class requires the purchase of a separate ticket.
