The Palace of Arts opens its doors to jazz ever wider. We have never disguised our goal for live, improvisatory instrumental jazz to be heard not just on the two major stages but to permeate every nook and cranny of the building. The aim for Monday Night Jam is for jazz to be played freely, giving more room for improvisation and to showcase the young lions of the genre. From January 2010, once the Monday Evening Jazz programme has finished, it will be time for Monday Evening Jam in the function ...room of the Bohemian Restaurant. And since the basic property of jamming is the strength of surprise, we can be sure that frequently, the young musicians playing earlier in the Festival Theatre will carry on making music. And the Jazz Spring festival will be coloured by live bands in a variety of locations in and around the Palace.
