Muzsikás Christmas Concert
28 December 2015 Monday
7:30 pm - 10 pm
Béla Bartók National Concert Hall

Featuring:

vocals Mária Petrás (Moldavia)
vocals Saint Ephraim Male Choir (artistic director: Tamás Bubnó)
dance Zoltán “Batyu” Farkas, Ildikó „Fecske” Tóth
Corvinus Közgáz Folk Ensemble

One of Hungary’s leading folk music ensembles, Muzsikás has been a constant presence on important stages and in festivals and concert halls both at home and worldwide for more than four decades. The group’s vibrant music and spontaneous performing style, and their love and proper respect for Hungarian tradition, has always captured audiences wherever they have played. Muzsikás is now an institution and a true Hungarian treasure; an ambassador for Hungarian folk music and culture. Its Christmas Concert is now a tradition in itself, where the roll-call of guests includes authentic village masters, urban folk musicians and other renowned performers. As before, this year’s event conjures the intimacy of Christmas, immersing us in the happy and uninhibited secular atmosphere of dancing and merrymaking of the year-end holiday season.
