Train carriages are being shunted on track one. Please stand clear! Some of the passengers waiting on the 'peron', the Hungarian word for 'platform', are entertaining themselves as the thrill of travel and the joy of being reunited take hold.
We will release the tension of anticipation for the evening concert with some afternoon open-air jamming. Bring children and friends - the programme is free of charge and open to all.
Programmes accompanying the concert until 10 pm:
... The engine shed - where the trains await
A giant surprise awaits everyone arriving in good time for the concert, partly courtesy of the First Youth Model Railway Club of Pécs. There they will find Hungary's largest model railway table, a curiosity featuring a track system more than seven metres in length.
This will be joined by controllable interactive terrain tables, wooden trains that can be arranged and moved, along with a track and buildings for visitors to construct as they please. The engine shed will be located in Müpa Budapest's foyer.
Station Track Machine - muscle-powered music machines on the Ludwig Terrace
These pedal-driven music machines assembled from outgrown toys, discarded tools and junked bicycles allow you, the visitor, to serve as the 'legductor'. Each and every one of these devices in the pedalling playhouse is a miracle machine: hop on and get those gears moving!
(In the event of bad weather, the programmes will be held on Banner Square and in the Foyer)
